Anyone feel the K-7 is deeper than the already fairly deep K20?

One thing Pentax better do with K-7 ads is show objects next to it for scale.

need a break

Change of concept? Like a digital MZ-S? Like moving in the right direction when everything except dslrs has been miniaturising? Mmmmmm feels so good...looks so good...this is no less than gorgeous

If it stands in my closet or living room... make it big, chunky & heavy down to ridiculous (especially those class A amps) I don't mind providing it delivers.

If I have to lug it like all day outside...make it as small as possible providing it keeps the functionality I need.

BTW, actually a girlie camera:

Especially those Limiteds, so girly!

She's from my country btw.

Guys do remember that Rice's specs are from the initial promo material, there might be some final changes by for the real announcement but regardless....

Anyone want a heavily used K20D to fund a k7

This has no doubt been mentioned before but I cant be bothered to trawl through 3000 posts. Can someone tell be what the small wheel is between the flash and raw buttons.

This is the external sync flash connector IIRC.

To be pedantic about it, it's actually the external flash sync connector cover You take that off to reveal the actual connector.

They couldve made an entirely new concept with the K20's sensor. Upgrading the sensor wouldve just been another incremental upgrade like everything else. A mere incremental upgrading of specs is far from a 'new concept'
Doesn't matter...the sensor is still the same physical thing which was the purpose of that post. My point is that this camera is NOT an upgraded K20D.

You could be right. From the pictures, the K-7 always just looked liked...a camera. But without seeing it in person, maybe I'm underestimating the size difference. Maybe small and metal could be 'the' concept, but it's gonna be a tough sell for Pentax on camera imagery alone. Would have even more reason to keep relying on "just hold a Pentax"...
I know for my own purposes I sized it up... I'm 100% certain that my 30D will be sold after I buy a K-7 for myself of course... I had to see what kind of size shock I am IN for I sized it up in photoshop, this does you all little good, & I only did this for myself but I'll put it up on here anyway, what I came up with in the difference in size between my 30D & the K-7

Nice work, Lore. I have a 40D, which is slightly taller in the shoulders than a 30D (I think) but close enough, so thanks for the comparison. Really helpful for me, if not for anybody else on here

If you're bored, can you do up a 5D vs K-7 comparison? That's my main camera.

From what we currently know, the K-7 simply feels like an all around well-specced K20 Super Mini (or K30 even). It doesn't seem different enough to be a wholly new 'concept'.
Wow, some people are so hard to satisfy.

We have a camera with new chassis, new body, new viewfinder, new exposure system, new improved and faster AF system, new ultrasonic dust removal system, new image processing CPU, new high res LCD, new Contrast AF with face detection, new HD movie mode, new 5fps, new HDR mode, new auto distortion and CA corrections, new HDMI out, new AA compatible battery grip....

I mean, sure, it just a "minor" upgrade, I suppose :ugh:
Geez.
