but, btw, if it can take 6AA, and if it doesnt have any features of its own apart from holding batteries, then why not allow it to take 2 extra batteries instead of just one, for a total of 3 batteries. now 2 is a lot already but I have to imagine the video recording will eat battery. live view as well.

would be cool to have a second sd card slot tho. dont know why so few manufacturers have done that. one cool way of using 2 slots is to split the images accross them to clear the buffer twice as fast by writing the first image of the burst to the first card while writing the second image to the second card at the same time. hell if you could do that on the body and add another 2 slots to the grip you can write off 4 images at the same time, I imagine soon you could do very long bursts

Battery is 7.4 Volts. 8.3 volts with AC adapter,. But 9 Volts with 6 AA lithium batteries. What can we do with 9 volts that can not be done with 7.4?

croatian pentax is also on over 5 hrs. but that's local time for me, maybe they also messed their counter - Neo Orbis d.o.o. Zagreb :: Pentax :: Novosti

AA LiMH batteries are 1.2V only. So, six of them just makes them work reliably. Great job! 9V don't cause any harm if designed in. Which is why the camera features a battery recognition.

Well the show's nearly over but the real fun is just about to begin. Despite the ( possibly) unintended leak yesterday Pentax must be pretty happy with themselves. They got free targeted advertising to almost half a million potential buyers.
I look forward to reading the real specs while enjoying a spot of " afternoon tea".
