Hmmm... Maybe.

I think there may be several sweet spots under "Other Features" that might just sway me to live with the 1/180 synch speed let down (probably irrelevant to many but a big one for me). There are several things on that list that I'm anxious to learn more about. I hope there are a few reviewers in the mix that will fully understand and explore that list of features.

It would be sweet if dynamic expansion is achieved by electronically controlling the sensitivity of various parts of the sensor but I suspect that most of those features are limited to in-camera JPG. I'm a die-hard RAW shooter, and Photoshop addict, so I may have to let go of a lot of my pre-conceived notions in order to give this camera a fair shake at finding its way into my work flow.

"For tripod work, the camera uses the motors that effect the Shake Reduction to allow you to touch up your framing using the 4-way pad. Nice touch, and one I imagine will soon become standard across the industry for cameras that have body-integral image stabilization."

So that's what the composition adjust thing was!

Magnesium/steel alloy with steel sub-structure

The body is cooler than competitor's bodies.

a quote i was reading from dpreview preview (i highlighted my favorite parts ):

"Lining the K-7 up against its obvious peers makes it apparent just how compact it is. Not only does it make the Canon EOS 50D look oversized but it's also more compact than the Olympus E-30, whose smaller sensor and mirror should have given its designers more leeway. Most striking is the difference in size between the K-7 and the Nikon D300 with which it competes fairly convincingly on specification - Pentax appears to have produced a Pocket Battleship to Nikon's Dreadnought."

it's at the side of the flash-housing, see the 2 small dots? I think that's the internal mic.

Yes... Thank you

Imaging Resources has added the K-7 to their Compair Models page, allowing side by side spec comparisons against every camera model out there.

Out now at Scandinavian Photo:

Pentax Digitalkamera system K7D kamerahus Foto > Digitalkameror > Systemkameror > köp den hos Scandinavian Photo AB (my fav dealer in Sweden, not necessarily cheapest but best sortiment) 11995 SEK for the body = 1111 Euro
They have the package with the normal kit zoom also. No price yet on spare batery. And they list x-sync as 1/180
