Something useful

The images from the Japanese website here
K-7?????????????PENTAX

I found that the last image be particularly useful. When the image is pushed 3-5 stops, it still does not produce artifacts like the K20D would do in that circumstance. There is a linear noise and grain pattern that I think will mean cleaner High Iso images.

Good idea!

I pushed the DNGs of Peter Baus (the images which Pentax Germany firts published and later removed) as well.

+4EV: ISO 200 -> ISO 3200
The image looks still nice (well, with blown out highlights ).

Additionally, I applied a Gamma-Correction of Gamma=4 which is very heavy as well, to make visible the regions which have still been dark.

Indeed, there are no artifacts I could spot. Just some pixel noise.

I still can't load pentax.se or pentaximaging.com. Guess we all helped out to bring them down

Will you buy the K-7, Douglas?
Most likely, the question is when...

also very disappointing:
Andreas: I haven't read every reply on every thread (you've made 38 today alone) - but is there ANYTHING about the camera that doesn't also disappoint you?

I mean, really, go have a beer or something and let people enjoy the day.

SD CARD tray. this would be good for two 32GB SDHC.
Wait, so before we ax this thread, is this SD card tray purely for storage or will the camera actually write to these two cards while they're in the tray? That feature alone would put the grip on my shopping list

Yeah, Roland. Who is stupid enough to consider the "viewfinder" a feature ACTUALLY used for shooting? Screw the physical features, compare the mental...er...physiological...um...spiritual? What the hell are there besides physical features on a camera?
are you really that thick? Use your head......

YAy...... I am happy about this. I must admit that I was always jealous of the D300 being able to push the image without introducing artifacts.
