You never had a LandRover then!

I agree to a certain extent that the British cars were not as bad as made out except for the first few thousand off the line but they were the critical ones. Fiat were even worse and the Japanese had the advantage of trying them out on the home market before sending them abroad so we never heard of their problems. It's also perhaps true that consumers then had a wider choice of car manufacturers than we have of camera makers now. Something of a duopoly has emerged and it ain't good for competition.

Justin.

Yes indeed, let the customer do the development work, but it is nothing new. Assuming you are an expat Brit then you will probably have faint memories of British Leyland who did exactly the same thing in the 70's and 80's. Where are they now? Beaten by those who did their homework first. (OK I know that's not the whole story but it was a factor)

Justin.

I'm assuming you are talking about Toyota doing their homework first. Isn't a funny old world we live in...

Actually, this as a shameless way of resurfacing the thread. But there is a DSLR other 645D in the works. I am pretty sure of it. I mean they have to. There is such a thing as a product cycle.

Because of that cycle I am quite sure the successors of those "rumored" new cameras are already in the design stages.

His screen name should be changed to the Necromancer (Zombie and Stale Bread would be 2 more options).

That is what Nubi means in French.

By the way, now that 645D is out of the closet, the next product out by Pentax has to be a new DSLR. Until DSLR format is completely abolished this thread will always make correct predictions. Awesome.

This thread is so silly, of course there is another DSLR in the works, there always is.

What if I told you that I've even seen and held it? :P

My prediction is it'll be a 3DSLR uses standard lenses, but you'll need two :P
