Anyway that photo is not of the K-7 fact, it's a k20d

I agree... obviously there is no official K-7 picture they can show, so the easy way was using a K20D photo.

It's more a confirmation it's coming, Pentax must be pretty chuffed with this camera and quite understandably from what I'm looking at..

The picture is not of a k20D. Probarbly k10d
It´s the same photo as Pentax used for their product catalouge 2008 though so im pretty sure it´s not another announcement.

Ah yes, you are correct. I should have checked the flash documentation before jumping to conclution: Date (ActionScript 3.0).

PHP language which I'm most familiar with uses the 1-12 format.
So no glitch... that must mean it's the sale date as cooldude14es suggested.

Could as well be a K10D, so why not a Kx0D????

And all these specualtions about a possible release date...
That woudl be plain silly, you can only do that if you guarantee that date, and to all stores...
I remember K20D, it was announced, it became available and then... I had to wait eons before i could get it...

Ah I should have put Its not a K-7 fact as I have seen one! It does however look like a k20d (im guessing they'd use that over a k10d as it's newer)

The "off by one" is probably one of the most classic programming mistake. That said, what were thinking the designers of these programming languages to make a month starts at 0?

It isn't an off by one error. It is an awkward API functon.

It isn't a flaw in the language, it is in this particular built-in API object named "Date()".

Having counters start at zero is best practice to avoid real "off by one errors".

Here, it is just that the API is inconsistent and is asking for trouble -- here for a wrong countdown for end of Pentax K-7 embargo

It comes from the standard Unix/C ctime(3) function call. And who knows where that got its inspiration — it surely dates back to 1960s at the latest.

Not that this helps anything, but like many things that don't make much sense, it probably seemed like a good idea at the time.

Right - so the programmer made a coding error assuming that 5 referred to May. This is the most sensible explanation so far.

Well, I checked again the spanish Pentax site for the countdown and it has been modified:

22days, 13hours, etc... so that bring us to May 20th...
