As far as I know you can't legally protect a combination of letters and numbers as a model name anymore, unless it's more than 5 characters long, or it's a brand name (not a model name).
K7 or K3 is just too short to claim it's a trademark.
So that is why my applications for "beer"failed...
But even so, a K-3 model would be very confusing after the news of Kathleen (the favourite of many fathers whoze kids loev the band announced that she would leave the group.. So therefore, no K-3

He has either climbed or wants to climb K7 (Karakoram), a mountian in the Himalyas (and plays off "The North Face" outdoor clothing).

Karakoram - The North Face

Thus K-7
Bit off topic, but The North Face is named because (in the northern hemisphere) the north face of a mountain is often exposed to worse weather and colder temperatures. As far as I know the company isn't named for any particular north face. More of just a mentality, or was before they found they could sell a lower quality product to frat boys and make more money, such is business but anyway..

How about lucky number 7?

Anyway, I guess that Eiger North Face is the most famous north face.

K-7, 7 as in 720p? But what would it be if they decide to offer 1080p?
