If you're basing your opinion on the digitalcamerareview.com review, then you're a bigger idiot than most people think:

Because a completely-sealed mid-entry level camera kit would be completely unique.
A complete sealed KIT LENS is MORE UNIQUE !

OK, what are they?

EDIT: BTW, the silly nonsense on digitalcamerareview.com is only the evidence of the stupidity of the reviewer. So your statement "there are more evidences" is peculiar.

DA18-55/3.5-5.6 II is really good kit lens with good bokeh, colour and contrast.
DA18-55 with weather resist is really good move of Pentax.
Roland Mabo said already about WR lenses too.

DA50-200 will be the same.

Err, yeah, that's what I said. I mean, you can't have a kit without a kit lens.

Perhaps one of these is the new kit lens. We can only hope. As I understand it, there is more to weather sealing a lens than simply adding a rubber ring near the mount. I can't imagine Pentax would redesign the 18-55 mm (Mark III) to be on the latest and greatest camera's kit lens. Also, isn't a weather sealed lens now the mark of a DA*? or is it weather sealing and SDM?
Yes, it is Real. Its a "re-designed" DA18-55.

Weather sealing the kit lens would be a very nice move, but as said by someone else if you already got a 18-55mm L kit lens why still maintain 18-55mm for the second one and even add weather sealing to it? I think a 16-55mm or 16-60mm F3.5-5.6 weather sealed kit lens would really add much more appeal to lure people to the Pentax brand and with the extra wide angle and weather sealing really would signal that Pentax does things more the photographers way then other brands even in the kit lenses.

And, I really appreciate that Pentax/Hoya did accept and take my suggestion - and most importantly, implement it!
I am sorry to dissapoint you Rice, but I am quite sure it was me... I have been annoying the people of that other forum about Pentax needing more sealed lenses :-) , also in the cheaper range. Da18-5 is a good start but we need a more versatile zoomrange as well.
I have heard numerous reports about the 17-70 being "so-so' but it would still be a good candidate for sealing as well. IQ may be a trade off but OTOH, they have managed to improve the DA18-55 so why not manage that with the 17-70 AND add sealing at the same time? (In fact, had the 17-70 been sealed I would have gotten it already).
Oh and ofcourse a DA*30/1.4.

Numerous? Name one.

EDIT:

"The Pentax DA SMC 17-70mm f/4 AL [IF] SDM is undoubtedly the most desirable standard zoom lens in the current Pentax lens lineup."

Err, our friends remark in this thread, then another post in this thread, a few posts in the other forum and a few emails I received privately from people who have bought it.

Ofcourse it's range and constant f4 make it very usefull and therefore desirable.
