The real specs of K-7 will be clear later. Pentax keeps secrets.

The rumored are very tasty. But not confirmed.
Only 77 zone light metering.

For example

E-3
• 49-zone multi-pattern

50D/5D Mk II
Metering modes
• Evaluative 35 zone

A900
• Multi-segment (40 segment Honeycomb pattern)

No problem, the good news is that you just need to read one thread

Price Development of Pentax Cameras After the new K Announcement

I have a question which doesn't concern the topic directly but still this seems a good place to ask it. I wasn't sure if I should dedicate a new topic for this:

What will be the price development of other Pentax models under the announcement of "the new K"? Will the prices drop after the announcement or have they already dropped as low as they will? I'm asking this since I'm trying to get a more up-to-date Pentax (probably K20D) and sell the older one (K10D). According to my info there already was a drop in prices just a few weeks earlier. Perhaps due to the rumors about a new model being announced.

For your information I'm getting lousy offers for the K10D kit right now. Well under half the price of a K20D kit. I doubt if I will have a budget to get the new K.

Good question. Since so close to launch I and going to guess a price and hope other for fun will to. My guess $1150.00 without lens.

Flaa not sure but the prices has dropped a few months back I think it was on the k20. Doubt they will go much lower. Keep the K10 as a backup I know I will.

The t1i feels like a kid's toy in your hands. Different league altogether.

No, the regular Joe won't even touch the K-7.
They would be totally lost after they found out the scene modes are missing from the mode dial!
"You mean I cannot take sports and portraits photos with this camera?"

Seriously, those cameras are targeting a completely different class of buyers.

You guys are too optimistic. Expect K-7 prices not less than $1500.

In Australia maybe. You guys get it rough down there. I fully expect this to be under $1500 in the U.S.
