Don't worry about it. My wife is from the Netherlands (I'm American), and I "accidentally" confuse Dutch with German all the time...it's good fun

Of course, she "accidentally" confuses us with Canadians to get even...

HOW DO YOU KNOW? :P Hopefully its not too expensive.

And I just compared the size of the K-7 to the 50D and oh my it looks really small!

It is if we have to press "Ok" everytime we want to move the AF point around...

But I can't believe Pentax would make such a stupid ergonomic mistake.

I bet there's a menu option to make it required or not.
I hope there really is an option in the menu to select the different mode -> Keep the 4-way buttons unlocked when in user AF point select mode and you have to press OK to select timer/WB/flash/... and a normal operation when in auto AF point select or center AF point mode. That would be logical and would not slow down the process of selecting AF points.

Someone mentioned it's the same safety technique as the mode select dial now has. Not quite, the mode dial is a mechanical wheel that can be rotated even when the camera is turned off, for the AF point to accidentally move the camera would have to be turned on. And I turn my camera off when it's just hanging around my neck ... if it's on I'm always holding it in my hand so accidental button pressing would be hard.

Split prism in focusing screen?

This picture might show the mirror down and thus the focusing screen, or maybe it shows the sensor (looks a bit monochromatic though). What ever it shows it sure looks different to my K20D.
Is the round blob a split prism on the focusing screen?

If you tilt your open K20D a bit it will look exactly the same. Has been discussed here before (the mirror box was shown before).
BTW, you see the reflection of the focusing screen which is in place. Really!

it's quite irrelevant really, as it's just firmware tweaks. pentax will fix it 2 weeks after release if people complain, or the open source community will 3 days after, as the firmware will, obviously, be opensource.
