D-BG4 specs? GPS?

As pentax is going for a weather resistant body with weather resistant lenses I find it natural that they would add GPS? Anybody know if it has GPS tagging?

Tell me again why this is in the News or Rumors section. This is neither.

But if he said.. I have heard there will be GPS tagging in the new Pentax, could anyone tell me if this is true then it would be a rumour and therefore open to 20 pages of pointless posts.

Um, it's both. He's asking if anyone has any news or rumors about the K-7 having GPS tagging.

To the OP, I've heard very few grumblings about GPS and I wouldn't expect it, even though it would seem to fit in well with the outdoor enthusiast niche Pentax is pushing toward.

As to the D-BG4, I imagine it will be practically identical to the D-BG2, just made to fit the K-7's body.

New D-BG4 has approx. 22 electrical pins

D-BG2 - 12 pins
D-BG3 - 8 pins

So maybe.. I'd like it to and maybe another SD reader bay so you can have dual cards to go along with the battery or to ber able to have two batteries in the grip etc

This is all I've seen so far. Excuse my ignorance here, but why are there two slots in the grip? Are they just for batteries? If so they don't seem big enough for the regular D-LI50s, maybe CR2s? Maybe something completely different? Maybe I'm just dumb?

The cavity on the BG2 holds the rubber plug that covers the connector socket on the bottom of the camera body. Perhaps there are 2 on the new grip because the K-7 has 2 plug sockets?

BG2 rubber plug cavity:

^ Now that I look at it more the front cavity is pretty shallow so is likely to hold the rubber plug, but the back cavity seems deep. Could be just the angle though.

The back cavity has the size of the connector. So its rubber protector goes there.
The front cavity may hold a (new) tripod screw protector, or the flash sync protector. The grip itself has no other connector.

Somehow I have the idea that the Pentax engineers have solved one of my main gripes with the D-BG2 grip: the fact that I cannot remove the battery in the body without removing the grip first. If this is possible with the K-7 then I'm happy

If you look at the camera, it has two doors on the right side.
The top one is probably for the card, the bottom on for the battery perhaps?

Unfortunately not. While the top one is indeed for the SDHC card, the bottom one is a rubber cover for the wired release (as can be seen on the press kit photos).
