It's worse than that: I don't WANT an AF assist lamp!! These things are so scary they make everyone duck and cover when you're about to take a picture!

I'll be glad if AF is indeed able to stand on its own with the K7.

After all, """""""AF weaknesses""""""" (with sufficient " " indicating that I am only speaking for myself and according to my particular experience and needs) were the main reason I switched to Canon, long before I even considered a FF camera which was more a "since I am switching, why not go the all 9 yards?" kind of thought process.

EDIT: BTW, I just realized that you "confirmed" (although in a very "rumory" kind of way) that there won't be an AF assist lamp on the K7. Hooray it (kind of) worked!!

Higher. Pentax always makes special cameras. Not ordinary.
