This is the Pentax News And Rumours forum. If we ever want to feel like the "old masters" we will get our brushes and move to Bob Ross's forum.

Here, we're all about new tech hype.

I'll remind you of an old saying about a life changing product.
"God did not create all men equal. Samuel Colt did."
Tech can bring the artist in you and turn you into a master, a fate you could be deprived of a couple of generations ago, where you would need special training and access to rare equipment, a coincidece that was quite ublikely to occur.

Some people do, and to Gooshin, too!

And yeah, I'm reading this silly thing - sometimes I even listen to Ogl

..............

- fast & accurate AF
- low high iso noise
- x-sync 1/250 or shorter
- 5 & more FPS

.......................
This is all I want, except may be the 5fps, I am happy with the 3fps......if these are there, I will switch to K-7, otherwise my K10D still takes impressive shots, so why change.....

I think that with all the hype during these last few weeks, even if the new camera would lay golden eggs, we'd be dissappointed.
I won't be disappointed if it laid golden eggs. The camera would practically pay for itself and even give you an instant cash cow if ever.

I think it wouldn't have weathersealing if "this" (something wrong with the body) rumour is true.
Pentax always makes some kind of compromise to bring the price of the camera down.
I would rather have weathersealing.

Be pretty satisfying for that LBA too.

I cannot imagine they would not weather seal the body.

It goes against the entire K-7 mountain, ruged outdoors concept.

I'm expecting the body to be plastic.

The voice of reason

I've not posted for the last several month because the rampant speculation was just to far out for me. Glad to see there are still rational people like you making the occasional intelligent post.

Thanks,
Ken

It must be weather sealed. The "sketch" of the K-7 has a weather-resistant lens on it.

I'll bet ogl may be referring to the "disappointment in the body" could be that it is not made of metal?

K-7 's specs are known, but a BIG SECRET.

My friend - Pentax dealer - got the specs.
He said that it's revolution for PENTAX.
For digital time. The competitors has some similiar features too, but K-7 is
ALL-IN-ONE, and it's first Pentax real semi-pro camera for the last 10 year.

With such machine we can wait for Pentax FF for 1-2 year. Easy.

He also said that K-7 is good fast photographic tool. Real semi-pro APS-C camera.
He said that camera has a lot of small and necessary features which any cameraman needs. A lot of new abbreviations in press release.

Ogl, what I don't fully understand is that if you're not under NDA, and no-one can link your sources to your true identity.... why then don't you tell us specifics if you know them? What/who's being served by the secrets here? Think about it, nothing's keeping you from telling what you know (or specifically what you heard,) right? Or have you said everything up to this point?

The Camera will be announced the 21st and released the day after hell freezes over.. just like the DA*60-250.
Pentax isn't into improving the camera's, just into adding new stuff for people to think they need on there camera that no one else has.
Just like all electronic company's,, they give you a little at a time so they have something to add next year. Right now Pentax could give us a camera that could probably blow away the D700, but then what would that have to give us next year. Why would we ever buy another camera if they give us what we want?
So don't get you hopes up.

The body is cool, but it has one problem for some users.
