There is one problem with body...
It is delivered with duct tape as it is not fully sealed???
Actually, if it is the "limited body"to go with the "limited lenses" we cannot really expect sealing.....

But I think it may be the need for other batteries...

VF is standart.
You just shattered 87,3% of my interest in the K7....

I was really hoping for a higher magnification that would have facilitate the use of my manual lenses...

96% coverage is fine with me but x1.2 or even x1.1 magnification would have been made it an instant buy for me.

lol101, just keep those 87.3%

ogl reacted to the patent idea (new kind of VF), not the specific quantitative data of it.

I guess this means the mirror will sit in the same location behind the mount and since the focus screen needs to sit at the same distance from the mount as the sensor it will also sit on the same location and as such the size should be the same and older focus screens should be compatible...

The only extra thing that's behind the focus screen in current cameras is the meter, so if that changes there is possibly an impact on the focus screen? AF is in the bottom of the body, so that won't impact the screen unless a new AF moves it to the top of the body?

I'm starting to believe my K-7 might inherit the KatzEye from my K20D...

Wim

Standart is standart. But what do you mean? I mean - optical viewfinder.

O-ME53 will help you in any case.

My interest is now back to 92,2% and recharging slowly...

What you should be hoping for is that the K-7 inherits the exposure system of the Pentax LX where the exposure is determined at two stages: metering on the first curtain, of directly from the film during longer exposures. Seems feasible in the K-7 too; this way it doesn't matter which screen you use.

Well, quickly looked over latest posts in Форумы Пента-клуба (Powered by Invision Power Board)

Again, Om81 has made some hints, con't guarrantee they are true:

- Om81 was joking when was talking about focussing screen, K-7 has standard matte focussing screen.
- Om81 was able to quickly try K-7, he says it is very good camera although there's something he didn't like about the body.
- Hints that K-7 will be able to shoot faster than 5fps (said that 5fps was the fastest shooting speed for Pentax camera until 20th of May) and it is sensor which is limiting shooting speed, not the shutter.
- Hint that there's some new anti-dust thingy in K-7.
- Battery grip for K-7 will have AF button.
- Om81 also was saying something about in camera HDR, but it is possible that he was talking about multiexposure which we already have in K10D and K20D.

Finally they were talking (joking?) about starting writing in "broken" Russian, so pentaxforums English speaking users won't be able to translate their forum with web translators Well, good for me, I speak Russian much better than English, no problems understanding their broken Russian at all

If the view finder is standard, maybe the 4 buttons on the left side will be now on the right side besides the d-pad. Like K-m. Maybe thats what they dont like?

Delete and Play buttons are located where bracketing button in on K10D and K20d, Menu and info buttons are located in the area where SR switch is located on K10D and K20D.

Could be that missing SR switch is what dissapointed them.

What I don't like is that the bracketing is gone into the menu.
I use it very often.

No, this was known before. The 4 buttons are now in the upper left and lower right corner.
If ogl and Om81 both say "to not like a point on the body", it must be something which is on the list of speculated features but not there. Like HD is not 1080p@24fps. Or whatever ...
