Well, I'm pretty sure that RiceHigh and Ogl will start talking about the K20D replacement (K30D??), of course, RiceHigh will publish the complete specs for the replacement camera on his blog... and how different K-7 and K30D will be....

LOL, indeed.

Actually, I find the SAFOX IV in my MZ-5n faster than the K200D, K100D Super I had last year. It physically 'feels' like its working faster.

We'll just start complaining about what they didn't put on the thing.

People will spend their time arguing whether a [outdated body] with a [favorite manual prime] is better than the K-7 with [speculated new limited zoom], and if that should be good enough for anyone because the K-7 STILL isn't a REAL professional camera because it doesn't have [feature here].

Hmmm...thinking about names...

Seems that all the manufactures (save Sony) are into the same naming scheme. Fewer (and/or lower) number means a higher level camera.

From high to low in the lineup:
Pentax: Kx, Kx0D, Kx00D, Kx000
Canon: 1x, 5x, x0D, xx0D, x000D
Nikon: Dx, Dx00, Dx0 breaks the mold, however
Oly: E-x, E-x0, E-xxo

Hmmmmmmmm

Salty, what a silly question! When the specs are released we'll start talking about how ISO6400 is better than K20D's ISO1600, or the VF isn't as bright as they promised, or 5fps is actaully 4.672592fps in real life, or why there's a dash in the name, or why there's a minor mistake in some unidentified EXIF label... All this without ever having held, let alone shot with the camera.

I can't wait to start beeyotchin' about it wit mah P peeps!

On the 21st the camera may be announced but no one will be able to buy and try it so there will be speculation on the performance and iq. then gradually some ppl will get to handle it at dealers/exhibitions and will start commenting on performance etc.

mainly ppl will discuss if the SAFOX VIII in it is better than the SAFOX VIII in the k20d or the SAFOX VIII in the k100d or the SAFOX VIII in the *ist 35mm camera...

These three say it all - it'll be like watching a car wreck we've all seen before (many times).

I sincerely hope so. I'm bored with the K-7 and think it's time we moved on to a camera about which we know even less.

Others will debate whether the K-7 is really a K9.

I'll just go on and shoot with my K10
