I didn't say it was a good one.

Piecing things together, I think it suggest that Pentax recognizes that current owners are their harshest critics, and that Pentax is hoping to address some of the criticism with the new K.

In other words...no news. We'll all have to wait.

I'm not itching to buy something new. I just bought my k20d and joined the forum. I'm gonna take pictures...

I was in the Rayners Lane branch this morning buying myself a 21mm Ltd for my birthday (someone has to...). I mentioned buying a second body sometime soon, but waiting to see what the end of May brought, but they just smiled inscruitably...

"New age for the digital single-lens
New K and talk live !!! Admission Free

It is created from thinking the photographer, is based on the development idea of PENTAX. The entire picture becomes clear, “NEW K bodily sensation & it holds talk live”. We would like you to touch very harshest you, promptly in PENTAX. By all means attendance in the nearby meeting place."

Looks like they are inviting current Pentax users to a live introduction of the new camera. No info.
Is your brother's wife's name "Babelfish"?

Teaser size?

Don't know if anyone has commented on this yet but the large and detailed (and official) image makes it possible to calculate an approximate size of the newK.

Both the K-mount and the flash shoe can be used as a reference, giving a width of 125 mm or less – exactly the same as my nimble istDS!

The newK is likely to be higher and deeper though, but will hopefully still dwarf the bulky and heavy K10D.

I think I'll just keep myself busy and make some pictures until the 21st. I won't buy it until you folks test it anyway.

I know one of the complaints of this marketing technique has been that its only drawing in people on forums like this but really think to yourself, how many people have you mentioned the k7 to that don't frequent any forums or anything like that? I know I've spoken with many of my friends about some of the "maybe it is, maybe it isn't" features and its spread like that. Viral marketing is the future of marketing, this is probably one of the cheaper launch campaigns they've done and I'm sure the cost to benefit ratio of this marketing endeavor will be extremely high. That is of course assuming the camera doesn't suck.

Forums like this are the infection site and we spread it to our friends and family. h1n1? I think I need a pentax mask!

Man, the body lines of the K7 alone are wicked looking; it's chunky but sleek looking at the same time...

Notice how the K20D isn't even featured on the splash page alongside the K-m and the X70?

Yes, time is running out for the K20D I believe, but it will still be sold for some months since it fits in the gap between "the new K" and the K200D. Then there will be a new "the new K" ("the new K Jnr"? ) replacing the K200D...
