This is the worst possible outcome for these types of campaigns (viral marketing type campaigns).

I work in SEO and I still can't understand why companies employ this type of incredibly hyped launch, only to allow it to fizzle out by not having enough server power.

What a waste...

As I watched the timer tick down it's last minute I pondered "So, I wonder if the server admins have learned from history and others' miscalculations and beefed up the servers...". When it ticked 0 and nothing happened and the page wouldn't refresh I had my answer.

it would be great PR if they had an error message like "sorry, our server is down due to high traffic", all i'm getting is a white screen trying to load a webpage.

woot.com has some good custom error pages when their "bag of crap" crashes their servers

i get the timer saying 8 mins left which according to my clock would put it at 7:17am....part of me thinks thats a glictch because who launches a product at the :17 of an hour?
