I guess this means that we can probably kiss the AF dependance/innacuracies in different light sources "buh-bye"!

I know this problem never existed in the first place but I am still happy Pentax took care of it...
Are you kidding me.
it does exist!!!!
My F50 1.7 focuses perfectly in daylight at +3 setting, but in tungsten light, I have to dial in a -7!!! Mixed light is a nightmare for focus at F1.7-2.8

thats a 10 point difference. Although my 50-135mm does not require such a large adjustment. +1 and -3 respectively.
To me its as bad as the VPN on my K10D. or do you want to tell me that does not exist either.
I hope AF is more reliable.

you guys are making my life miserable!!

but I think that for now I will stick to my plan and my next buy will be a lens.

I will wait for the price of the K-7 to go down a little.

Ah, good point. Or maybe not.

With 7 points per page, this means there are between 36 and 42 custom functions on the K-7. K20D has 36 custom functions. So, no real difference here.

I know... I was being sarcastic since I had this AF accuracy problem (and not only in tungsten) myself and it was a sizeable part of what threw me out of the Pentax DSLR arena and into the greedy hands of Canon... but since some persons insisted that there was no such problem (the always famous "user error " was invoked), I guess Pentax just went thrue all this work for nothing. (I insist: )

(And I also had VPN with the K10,... and HPN with the grip,... and a crooked VF,... and some large underexposure problems on overcast days,... that was a bit too much for me so I took some "vacations" until Pentax sorted it out... )

What's the little button on the dial?
You will be required to push down that button in order to turn the dial. Otherwise, the dial is locked into position.

I think it can, See : "Slow Shutter Speed NR" in the pic

I also see "Remote control in Bulb". Does it means I will be able to do bulb exposure with just 2 push on the wireless remote?

5.2fps JPEG, 1080i movie recording, old-style squarish small body, AF assist, better AF! Seems all majorly requested features are finally in.

I'm just curious about the video quality. If it's better than the D90 I'll be drooling all over it!

ogl, nice job playing the insider. you might have disappointed a few people though
not really all that great since it will probably be 3FPS RAW, less than KM due to larger sensor. Nothing new, big let down...

The leaked specs mention 5.2 fps in jpeg or raw (15/14 frames PEF/DNG).

If that doesn't cure some of the "machine gunners", only a 1D will...:ugh:

Peter. Thanks for sharing this information

There is one thing intriguing me though. How do we change active focuspoint in Select mode, now when the four-way controll has been given other tasks?

You press the OK button once, then use the 4 way control to select.
