yeah...when I was in my camera search I was big into nikon...d90 was my choice there because the d300 was a little bit too expensive. What I liked was the affordable quality of tokina lenses. One of the big drawbacks to pentax for me was that non-compete clause where tokina cannot make pentax lenses. Hopefully this is indeed a sign of collaboration as I really liked tokinas lenses, especially the 11-16mm dx wide angle.
I'm also less hesitant about these mid-level zooms with onbody image correction! If priced right these "WR" lenses could be the perfect compromise between quality and affordability, at least for someone like me.
