pentax.de says 17 hours 21 minutes, though.

I think the flash code doesn't quite work with either different time zones or localised date formats.
Wellwellwell.
This is confusing, I just looked at Pentaximaging.com
At this moment it says:
17 hours 12 minuets and 51 seconds..
oh no make that 50 seconds

At least you have an official clock.
The Pentax UK site makes absolutely no mention of the K-7 whatsoever.
If it makes you feel better, neither does the french one. The german one has a counter though.

Guys, they simply fixed that counter.

Before it displays different time left depending on your compurer time and time zone.

At the same time someone on the East coast was seeing different time left (three hours diifference) that someone on the east coast was seeing. Now they fixed it, so it displays the same time left for all timezones

BTW, only 7 hours have left on German counter

OK, I was under the impression that the K-7 announcement was scheduled for 7am EDT, at least it was when I looked last night on my home computer. I just looked on my work computer (which is set to correct EDT time, ie 3:15 as I write this) and the "official" clock is now reading 18 hrs and 45 minutes. If my math is correct that gives an official release time of 10 AM not 7 am.

NaCl(tho maybe I'm confused)H2O
Simple answer to the question is that Pentax is doing some last minute engineering to fit an FF into the K7.

Well, I just got home and checked my home computer. Last night, at about 7:30 on my system clock, the countdown timer read 1 day 11 hours and 30 minutes. Giving a release time of 7AM EDT on May 20th. Now at 8:30 EDT on May 19th, the countdown timer reads 13 hrs 30 minutes, resulting in a release time of 10 AM EDT on May 20th. I haven't changed my system clock which means that Pentax has added 3 hours to the release time from the time they posted last night. And yes, I totally understand that the counter works off my system time, but that's neither here nor there. For me the release date/time has been set back 3 hours.

I assume they meant 10am PDT all along.

That said, it happens pretty often that web sites update at exactly midnight with the next day's un-embargoed news stories. So me, I'm reloading dpreview.com at 12:01.

If your counter is correct, and you posted at 6:01 CDT, that would make the release at about 1 AM CDT. (6 PM CDT + 7 hrs = 1AM CDT)
Yet MY counter is reading approximately 13 hrs 10 minutes at 7:50 CDT(pentax forum time) or 8:50 EDT my time. If you do the math you come up with 10 AM EDT (9 AM Pentax forum time)
There is a BIG discrepancy between 1 AM and 10 AM....like about 9 hrs.

NaCl(it will be interesting to see what that damn counter reads when I get to work tomorrow at 6AM EDT)H2O
