Originally posted by RMabo Pentax has many lenses to release before the 11-16 f/2.8, and note that Pentax are working on making the consumer DA serie to WR - this takes up time and resources. So see it as a halt on new optical designs and lenses, because Pentax needs to make new WR versions of existing lenses. When this has happened, Pentax will introduce new lenses again. So no new lenses for this year, "only" WR-versions of existing lenses.
Oh, and the possibility of a 80-400 is highly unlikely, at least from Pentax.
Ah yes of course...Pentax is a 'small' brand of course...
They have the biggest optical company, named Hoya, and one of the biggest Electronic companies, named Samsung, behind them...
I don't see them any more as a real small company.
Adding WR seals to the existing designs should soak up all the resources.
