Grr... They still haven't fixed the slow-shutter-speed NR problem with the K20D.

The options are "Auto" and "Standard", no "Off" function.

I still need to switch bodies back to the old K10D for fireworks pictures, the forced slow-shutter NR in the K20D makes it unsuitable for fireworks work.
Well, I'd hold my horses on declaring what's not in the firmware: it seems Dpreview and others have only had access to very early pre-production firmware: conspicuously, no one's mentioned actually making an image with what's been out and about yet, that I've seen.

Have these filters always been available in-camera:

Miniature • Foreground/Middle distance/Background Gives a mock-Tilt/Shift effect
Toy camera
This is one of the features I like the most from K-7

I wonder if we won't be needing the Tilt & Shift lens anymore or Photoshop with this feature.

Only $1199 at B&H. That's a very very good price. Even a used Nikon D300 is selling more than that.

Hehehe....yup. Love this comment. This K-7 is even smaller than Olympus E-3 that is supposed to be smaller with micro 4/3.

So I jumped the gun, $1600 Cdn is still a bit much (for my wallet). I won't be able to afford this model unless my wage changes drastically or I win a decent Scratch & Win .
am i missing something here? why are you guys saying its 1200 at B&H

Pentax | K-7 SLR Digital Camera | B&H Photo Video

its listed as $1299.99

You're right, it is 1300$ now. I'm almost certain it was 1199$ earlier, but maybe it was the excitement of the moment

It was initially 1199. Within 30 minutes it went to 1299.

predict the MLU feature will end up in the pro section of the review, they are always asking for that especially with canon.

wonder why they keep writing CCD sensor in the specs list on dpr tho

I saw that line too when comparing the K7 to the D300. Thought it was a great line and summed up the comparable models succinctly.

Did you read preview?

To boost low-light AF perfromance, the K-7 gets an AF-assist illumination lamp.
The press release was a bit misleading, but after reading the hands on from people it's obvious that the assist lamp is not part of the built-in flash. Yay!

Within a few months it will be $ 1199...then eventually $ 999. The older they get the cheaper they get. Saw an ad for Nikon D200's for $ 600...the other day. Still a good camera, just a little past it's best before date. But down considerably from it's original price.

Henrys has it listed for $1,499.99CDN Cannuck Bucks. Looks like Pentax Canada decided not going down the highway robbery path this time. Kudos to Pentax Canada for at least partially paying attention to the market here.

I think any K20 owner that purchased within the last 6 months should hold off buying this K7, and ugrade when the next gen hits. The K7 looks like a supreme rework of the K20D, and while it has better AF speed, 720p video recording and better high-speed shooting as notable improvements, it still has a 14.6MP sensor and I don't think that unless you rely on your Pentax for your livelihood that it's going to be worth the jump. The successor to the K7 will very likely have 1080P shooting and a 20MP+ sensor in addition to all the improvements the K7 brings, and I think that's the time it will be worth current K20 owners doing the move.

However for K10 owners I would jump at the chance... the K7 looks like the start of something BIG for Pentax, and addresses many previous criticisms.

A very exciting time for us Pentaxians.
