I really like the almost silent shutter sound.

The CV M-mount 50/1.1 is big news too.

So I guess as expected, this is the missing No.2 camera on his list of top ten recommended cameras.

Another great wrap on this extraordinary development for Pentax.

Mike Johnston knows his cameras and if he gives it a high rating, then it certainly deserves it.

That CV 50mm lens is surely an exciting news for me. CV 35mm f1.2 M mount did not have a good reputation at all. Hope this one is not going to dissapoint...

that's funny roentarre, I rather liked the CV 35mm f/1.2 it had character that set it apart from the others in the voigtlander lens line up - of all of them it was really the only one that produced images that had that "Leica" look to them.

I agree, but do not forget that Mike is a big Pentax fan. He has his biases, but they cannot even begin to counterbalance the pro Nikon and pro Canon biases that predominate in the media.

I found CV 35mm f1.2 bokeh rather harsh and not as sharp as I would have liked stopping down. I prefer CV 35mm f1.7 instead...

However, Nokton 55mm f1.5 Screw mount is a very nice lens for which I am keeping in my range finder collection.

You are lucky to have so many lenses to test out. It took me so long to save money to try out these lenses!

Mike is more pragmatic than the blind fanboyism that is all too common amongst other reviewers. If something about a camera ticks him off, he isn't afraid to mention it and deal with the consequences.

you know, I hated the nokton 55mm f/1.5 I don't like how it handles OOF highlights and and it doesn't do contre-jour phtography well because it is prone to veiling glare - more than most lenses.

I do agree with you on the CV's harsh bokeh, it can be a bit overbearing at closer distances but I'll remind you that under certain circumstances the noctilux suffers from exactly the same thing. And speaking of the noctiux 50mm f/1.0 that lens doesn't exactly perform well stopped down either, I prefer the Konica 50mm f/1.2 for daylight work. That's why I was so surprised by the pentax K 50mm f/1.2 it performs exceptionally well in (almost) every lighting situation I have thrown at it. and in the situations where it didn't perform so well I really couldn't think of a lens that could have done substantially better.
