Originally posted by gazonk It should be evident by now that thee won't be any K30d. The next camera will probably be somewhere between the K-m and the K-7. Probably better specs than K20d, but with controls more like the K200d. E.g. scene modes.
People are saying 'No K30d,' but, I'm not so sure... the way it looks to me, now, the 'entry level' has gone down toward things like the K-M... and the K20d's still kicks butt in the price range: I bet they could split the difference between the K-7 and the K-M in price and features and come up with something very K20d-ish: they could really keep taking advantage of the fact that the K20d's the best bang for the buck for poorer-but-serious photography people. They could basically just speed these guys up a little, toss some scene modes in the firmware, and call em a heck of an intermediate.
(Or, of course, they could beef up the K200d a fair bit, or make something new, but I think they don't need to make as many concessions to 'entry level' users as they did when the 100 series came out. If they're sort of straddling the market niches on price and features, anyway, it seems logical they might keep up the pattern. )
