K7's impact on K20 marketability

I am still hanging on my K10, at least up until now, but I am seriously thinking to upgrade, probably like most of the people in here.
However, my wallet is getting thinner everyday, so I was thinking that it might be a good time to upgrade to a K20, since those are probably expected to go down in retail price and the 2nd hand market.

Does anyone have any official-ish estimate on the not so distant future of the pricing of K20D?

If the Canon 5D and 5D mk2 are anything to go by (Canon sold both side by side for a while, in fact still list both as available), I can see a drop in price of the K20D but not to the K200D level. However, I can see the demand for the K20D go up for a time at a reduced price of about half way between the current K20D price and the K200D price, but not drop further. Here it will stabilise (as did the 5D) until either they stop production, or replace with the replacement for both the K200D and K20D. I would say give it a couple of months after the K-7 is in stores for the price to come down to that stable level. One the other hand the K20D is very reasonable now anyway, so why not get one now, and take advantage of 2-3 months of shooting? As with anything, prices always come down, so what is the point of holding back and missing out of taking photographs?

K20D - currently I would say $500 to $600 and dropping. More you paid too much, less you got a good deal this week / month. Next month it might be a lot less or just a little less - who knows.

I think the k200d now makes more since if it had a few minor updates that were included in the K-m.

I paid top dollar for my K20D a few months before they dropped substantially. It's been such a great camera I haven't felt too bad - it does make me wary of jumping onto the K7D bandwagon early. Anybody that buys a K20D for less than $600.00 is getting a heck of a camera for the price!

Wish I had such price options here... It s like 700 euros normal retail, 650 friendly price.

I was thinking to wait a bit and get a 2nd hand one (from people upgrading) for half the price or something. I got my K10 the same way and never regreted it...

On the other hand, that 70-200/2,8 also sounds good to me...

need some extra cash like ... now...

The K20D is most likely going to be discontinued after the K-7 is released. I do believe it is the replacement for it.

It has been stated a number of times by Hoya that it is not a replacement for it. Take that with a grain of salt.

That is what I remeber that they said too that the K7 wasn't the K20D replacement.
From the prior info, K20D replacement won't be revealed till before christmas or next year?
Maybe they just said this earlier to throw off the speculations about the K7.
