Underexposure!?

Pentax K-7 Image Samples
I posted that already this morning.

Btw, all the four samples required +0.3 or +0.7 EV compensation, no matter CWA or New 77 Matrix Metering was used, which is really worrisome from the very beginning!

The scenes and subjects don't look tricky to me neither. Hope the K-7 don't go down the route for an infamous DSLR for wonky metering and exposure once again! (as all Pentax DSLRs do, IMHO)

Hardly worrisome. Without any available comparisons (whether it be the results of an incident light meter or a different camera), 1/3 or 2/3 ev compensation means absolutely nothing....unless you can verify that the metering area averages out to middle-grey.

As for sharpness, details & colour - I'm looking forward to having a better look at the samples on my lunch break

In truth, I expected much better sample photos there. Maybe there is a hidden messahe in them that I cannot understand what, but NO WOW this time, still. I'll give another chance.

P.S. - Their turn to have a lemmon on hands!

They're okay to me. Not spectacular, but okay. From my time in reading camera reviews dating back to 2002, I always thought reviewers were able to take photos that better show the strengths and weaknesses of a camera as opposed to sample images hosted on official websites.

I suspect the firmware is also undergoing last-minute tweaks hence the need for testers. I'll wait for user reviews.

Sample images are very rarely great. I find most of them boring, regardless of brand. They just shows - surprise! - that the camera can take images. I never bother about them really. Not really worth discussing.
