Pricing - For us Australian Pentax users...

So America got it's pricing release, whilst Australia really sat in the dark, can check out the pricing here on my blog.

Needless to say, it's VERY impressive given what most of us thought it was going to be like for Australia. Lucky too, as this way lots of people will be buying it, as opposed to thinking it'll one day get cheaper and they might buy it then.

These prices better stick. But they are straight from supplier so here's hoping!

edit: And I think it deserves a thread of it's own, american pricing and australia pricing are two very different things, usually we get extremely screwed over. And this way any of us interested can keep it to one currency heh.

Pretty much summed up my thoughts too guys. Stock is expected mid june according to CRK, and it did sound like there'd be a fair bit of it, I asked about pre-order and he said you could simply walk into the shop to buy it.....

Only worry is what it'll do to the value of my k20d :S

Hahaha, that's exactly what I am thinking about. Now new K20D goes for $1200-1300. New K-m goes for $800-$900. So, used K20D somewhere in between?

I didn't plan to immediately upgrade to K-7 but this pricing leaves me no choice...

BTW, did CRK mention D-BG4 price?

My thoughts exactly, would almost seem crazy not to upgrade, body was just devalue more! Nope didn't even think to ask about the grip sorry, my bank account is shuddering at the thought of this already.

A store's planning to be listing the prices as.

K-7 Body only : $1625.80 (Cash, 2% for CC)
K-7 Body w/ 18-55WR : $1774.30 (Same as above)

Prices are in AUD. The pricing may be subject to change since they don't have any actual stock yet, but the source reckons the price is pretty firm.

I'll get the grip, MY sigma EX 100-300mm f/4 APO is a major pain in the soft parts to hand hold without that extra heft form the camera.

does anyone know if the grip is going to be made of the same material as the camera itself?

that might seem like a stupid question, but it pays to ask.....

The grip is going to be weather proof etc if that's what you mean? I'd assume it would be the same "texture" also, at least you'd hope so...

I agree, would like the grip to balance out the bigma, but I think it can wait (as more money makes me cry right now).

If we could get enough interest Vanbar (prices mentioned by pop4 above) may well be able to do us a deal on a "group buy". All a bit up in the air right now, but worth mentioning incase people are interested.

Mmmm, the pricing is rather steep...

Maybe wait and see. k20d is sold so much cheaper in US though.

I am ordering as soon as... cannot wait for this to hit the Aussie shelves.

The battery grip is a good question Digitalis... mate the FA77 looks so good on the K-7

I think I have read somewhere that with the new K-7 batteries you get 900 plus shots... is that correct?

Digitalis, I assumed they are made from ABS plastic or ABS with steel frame and have silicon seals ??
