I am always perplexed when I read "shifting to FF". No company has shifted to FF so far, they just included one or more FF cameras to their line of reflex, which includes many more APS-C cameras.

As for these lens, I don't understand the logic in doing a 20/2,8 with aperture ring while the 135/2,8 lacks it. I would understand if the 135 would be a very compact f/4, in line with the other DA limiteds, but F/2,8...? That would be not DA "limited" compact, nor FA "limited" wide aperture...

Finally, the apparition of the star after few post complaning it's absence, it's smelling...

Mayby you have to find another job, or 2 more jobs.... or three. There are 24 hours a day that you can work. But, then you will have an problem... when do have time to make photos then? Then you do not need so many jobs...

Yes 20mm is more dramatic than 24mm, however like the previous post said, it seems an odd place to start. I am obviously no Pentax marketing expert or anything like that, but to me it seems like you could bring back most FA designs with no real big issues, but to bring back a 20mm when modern super wides are all the way down to 12mm these days and Nikon and Canon are at 14 and 16mm it just seems a bit odd that Pentax wouldn't take advantage of this newer technology and try to push the envelope just a bit.

This is all probably a mute point anyhow, the chart looks like a fake. I would love to see a FF pentax though, and a 50 1.0 but it probably will be a little while before we see anything like this.

What if the images of the road map is fake. But its a way for this guy to hint something he knows of... Feels good to think so at least.

I personally don't think they are a fake, I think that PENTAX has taken the cue that they have been, well... sucking ass for a long time and now it is time to get serious about and do two things;
1. Making products that make headlines
2. Making products that fill the needs that thier users want.

If you look at all of the lenses that PENTAX has produced in the past, M, A, F and even FA, there are HUGE voids to fill in comparison to what is on the market now. I think that they are starting to realize that they need to saturate the market a bit more than they have been. IMO its about damn time.

I am a firm believer that you have to give people the OPTION to say no, because there are those who will always say yes.

3 of the current 5 Limited lenses are f/2.8 or faster...so why couldn't a DA 135 Limited be f/2.8 again?

there would definitely be a ton of light coming in for the AF system to work with, only thing is that it would have to be dead accurate with a razor-thin DOF at that F-stop.

The 135 2.8 doesn't have any image at all. Going by your logic it should have one.

Can you explain the f/1.0 in the LCD display image that was leaked when details of the K7 were emerging? Or have you thought that Pentax is possibly shifting to FF, hence the removal of the DA 30 and the sudden appearance of a prestige lens such as the DFA 50?
Oh, come on.. the design isn't finalized yet, but someone willing to leak a photo of the k-7 top lcd was allowed to test such a lens ?

There are plenty of reasons why the image of the K-7 had F1.0 on it's display: A debug mode? It allows you to set whatever f-number you want in manual mode with no lens attached? It's a fake to make it seem even more fantastic on the forun it was first uploaded to?

If Pentax were to plan a fullframe camera there should be no reason at all to suddenly drop the DA30, ment to be a standard lens for crop cameras, and then put all their attention to a $4000 lens with an extremely narrow customer base. That's just absurd IMHO.

Oh, and why on earth would they have an "internal roadmap" designed by their marketing division looking exactly the same as the ones they release to the public, but with temporary images of other lenses pasted in there?

I guess we should just opt for the Chewbacca defense - you know, it has to be true, because it does not make sense!
