Yes 20mm is more dramatic than 24mm, however like the previous post said, it seems an odd place to start. I am obviously no Pentax marketing expert or anything like that, but to me it seems like you could bring back most FA designs with no real big issues, but to bring back a 20mm when modern super wides are all the way down to 12mm these days and Nikon and Canon are at 14 and 16mm it just seems a bit odd that Pentax wouldn't take advantage of this newer technology and try to push the envelope just a bit.

This is all probably a mute point anyhow, the chart looks like a fake. I would love to see a FF pentax though, and a 50 1.0 but it probably will be a little while before we see anything like this.
It could make sense from one specific point: this presumed new 35mm camera starts with exactly these lenses, that are mostly used in forumtalk as proof for the "limits" of APS-C.
A somehow fast 20mm F2.8 would have to be a 14mm F1.6 from DOF, 50mm 1.(0? more likely 1 or 2) would be a shallow-DOF monster.
It's a teaser for those who want exactly this kind of addition to the technical possibilities of their photograpic tools and would also be ready to pay the price (probably at highest level) for a body and a lens having nothing but this advantage over the complete main APS-C-line.

On the other hand, exactly this makes the whole thing even more suspicious, as it is adressing just exactly last weeks forum-whining. Probably a case of "to good to be true" as being an indicator of a (well done - because it led to two threads) fake

Of course that was in very sunny afternoon.
yes had much the same with fa 77 1.8 in a fairly sunny cloud covered sky

with the K7 now at 1/8000 would it be cover this ?

I'm curious. If Pentax modified the current SMCP-A 50mm f/1.2 front elements to gather more light (e.g. make them twice to three times as large), while keeping the rear element as is, will such a lens not pass more light to the sensor?
I think that it's not possible, all the design must be redone to gather more light to the same area (different shapes of the elements), but ... here we have optical engineers specialized in the K mount who say it's not possible, so we can stop thinking about it :ugh:

THE ultimate lens for all those wildlife shooters.

but could you make it f/0.95? it's a bit slow with f/1.0...
oh yes, i forgot - please, add automatic mount converter, so it'll fit M42 Spotmatics and 645 and 67 cameras too.

No, we aren't, since it is a hoax.

However, RiceHigh has run into the trap, got excited and posted everything as "News" on his blog and created another thread here after he missed this one here

Meanwhile, new "blurry images" as posted in the other thread have 100% debunked it as hoax. Poor RH

Why wait? Why spend? Just run to Edmund Scientific, buy some big glass, and make your own! Sure, you'll have some issues with aberration etc, but it's a small price to pay for cheap speed.

fingernails line-up

If this is true I guess the employees of Pentax Poland will be subjected to a thorough fingernail check up to find out who the *rat* is! In his shoes although is REALLY not my style I would start using some polish or fake nails.
