The Norwegian distributer tells Akam that K200D is already out of production, K-m is nearly out and soon K-7 will be the only camera from Pentax. The final conclusion is that there must be new models pretty soon.

New models will definitely come. They always do but I don't expect them any time soon.
I think there are still plenty Km's and K200D's to sell.

K200D is close to sold out. K-m is 2-3 month and it will come the end.

I dont think km will go away so fast but k20 and k200 are deffinetley going out. I get the impression the k200 is already pretty much gone

over here in croatia (and in slovenia, too), K200D is sold out and will not be available anymore, for two months already.

friend of mine was in shopping frenzy, he called every single shop that claimed they have K200D in-stock and available, and found no love - sold out, unavailable. so he bought K20D instead.

i hope K200D-replacement will be sized like K-m, but weather-sealed.

I haven't dealt with Aronsen, but honestly speaking:
Do they know what they are talking about? From my side of the country, it does not seem so.

What I'm questioning are their predictions about the K-m. It does not make sense.

Why not? I wouldn't be surprised if a "K-m Super" arrived in the near future, with a few tweaks added.

I dont think there is so much to tweak on the km. the big upgrade for it would be to add either the k20d or k7 sensor and get rid of the last sony sensor in the lineup.

It is only 8 months old. K20D and K200D on the other hand are 18 months old ...

I honestly can't imagine Pentax being able to introduce two new models at the same time as they are producing the K-7. One new modell, maybe, but not two.

Well, the DS2 was introduced when the DS was about 8 months old.... It was not sold in all markets, but it did include a few upgrades compared to the DS.

I've already posted info that K-m's days had been numbered. Info from Pentax's dealer in Russia.
No more new delivery of K200D and K-m.

Two quick updates that would help for a K-m Super: Focus detection points, and an orientation sensor.

DS2 didn't make much sense either

As I understood the original article at akam.no they where not talking about a K-m mk2, but something brand new. That's what I find unlikely.

My bet is on a new Km (km super?), same body possibly rugged, with video, new prime processor and some tweaks as in the k7.

Ogl, do you have any info? (more reliable than the EVF of the k7
