Hi,

If I pre-order now will I be able to get it no later than July 13th?

I'm off for a 2 weeks trip on the 14th will I be taking a big chance pre-ordering?

Is it going to show up later or before or about the same in stores?

Otherwise I'll buy the GH1 even though I've been more and more enticed by the K7.

Damn!

I'm in the US by the way.

Last I heard (I believe from JCPentax, so it's about as official as you'll get) is that Pentax is pushing for late June/early July in the US. So there's no firm shipping date it seems.

That would be awesome, now I just realized that it's body only, how about those 2 new lenses?!

Also will a local store have the camera in stock when pentaxstore starts shipping or will they receive it later?

Yeah my big annual trip to Montana starts July 9, I am hoping it will be here, but not real optimistic.

Why would they put it at the end of June Early July, Doesn't Pentax know I have rent to pay lol.

mrt10x - who knows you might go to Montanna and enter a store and there will be a K7 there waiting for you.

It looks like the official launch date here in Sweden is July 1st so I guess it will be similar elsewhere.

When the K20D became available, the exact freight ship arrival harbours and dates leaked a week or two before, for both US and EU. Add 1+ day for west coast, 2+ days for east coast.

K-7 is incredibly desirable. Much pent up demand for this body whereas I read GH1 in black is only rolling out at 2,500 units a month rate.

I noticed GH1 arrival at B&H got pushed back recently to July, yet some have been delivered to other parts of the world already. K-7 is inhands of beta testers like falconeye but not for sale anywhere yet.

Maybe look into K20D from Pentax as a backup purchase choice. It has no HD video but its an exceptional value and really a very nice camera.

Maybe you can get a firm delivery date from pentaxstore concerning K-7 delivery date or email pentaxusa?

Me? I always like to own a camera atleast 6 weeks before I take a trip so time is quite tight if it was me wanting either K-7 or GH1 for a planned 7-13 excursion.

Last I remember, there was a really decent store in Bozeman who might be able to have one for you to pick up.

Yeah..K11 camera or something like that.. used to buy my MF velvia from them when in town.. I think they gave up on Pentax a couple of years ago.

According to the Pentax rep who the salesperson I ordered my K-7 from called right in front of me, the first shipment leaves the factory late June. In Canada, they should start hitting stores July 1st. This was from a store in Calgary, just north of Montana.

Ok, I also talked to the sales rep where I pre-ordered the K-7. he called someone (presumably the local Pentax dealer) on the phone to confirm the arrival date of the K-7, and he said that the unit will arrive on the first week of July. I repeat, "FIRST WEEK OF JULY". the store branch will have 6 units on their stock list. 4 units are still up for grabs since there is me and another person who already pre-ordered the unit.
