I think the review was kind of harsh. The K-7 HAS more features than the EOS 50D yet receiving only a 86%...
HDR is a gimick? From the images I have seen, I don't think so....

What the hell? There have been battery grips around since the *ist D

also no exif in their photos! and it doesn't say if it's a production model or not? I'm guessing it's just a pre-production model with the firmware upgraded to vs 1.0

I left them a comment:

Pentax have had optional battery grips around since the *ist D which came out in 2003! I think you meant to say the optional battery grip can take AA's OR another battery. Please amend!

"Cons: Underexposed images"

That cracked me up.

Can I take them seriously?

D300: 93%
K200D: 88%
K20D: 88%
K-m: 89%
K-7: 86%

Looks like "the better the camera the worse the score". K-m better than K-7 reviewed only a couple months later ...

So, they basically attribute random scores based on what day they had

Cons: tough competition to compete against

Since when was it a con against a camera that it has tough competition?

Is it just me or do the image samples with the review look really average compared to what forums users have already shot the the K-7?

Final 'con': 'tough competition to compete against'

What does that even mean? That having good competition is a negative for this camera?! I'm so confused.

Yeah, that doesn't make much sense. It seems like a forced "con."

There's nothing wrong with pointing out actual flaws, like when the reviewer claims the AF is too slow on the live view. But there are other questionable cons like the movie mode being a "flavor of the month." Come on now.

It's a joke. Maybe not intended to be one, but a joke nonetheless. I'll keep waiting from the real reviews to come out from consistent review sites and they'll keep me company while I wait until I can afford a K-7 of my own.

There are three places that review cameras, DPR, Imaging Resource and DCR ... the rest are utter and total hacks.

What a dumb review. They just skipped one major feature - compositional adjustement to go with the leveling aid.

they don't want to mention that to aid the score of the K-7. otherwise they would appear too biased on the side of the competition.

the shooter is a newbie who thinks he can produce good quality pictures with a great cam. when he failed to do produce good pictures, he just said that the photos are underexposed and blames/fault the camera for it.
