Samsung NX with AMOLED diaplay

In Samsung Announce article by Photorumors a user published a link about "NX specification"

Samsung announcement on July 7th | Photo Rumors

He published a link to OLED-Display a OLED technology forum.

Samsung 3" AMOLED 720p • Forum OLED-Displays|Laser-Tv|FED|Sed Flat-TV HDTV

"-Ultra-Precise LED Electronic ViewFinder 1620x1080p/250Hz 3:2 resolution
-1X magnification and 100% coverage
-3" AMOLED 960x720 (720p) 3:2 display
-Cmos sensor 14.6 megapixel 3:2
-100-6400 ISO

A 720p screen would be very impressive indeed and very useful for manual focus.

But I need to know the K adapter situation.

Camera Dimensions ?

Does anyone know what the size of the new Samsung camera will be, I hope it is not to big.

Looks like a GREAT carry around, high quality rangefinder, very , very cool.

Yeah. I wish it looked more like a traditional rangefinder than an SLR that's been hit head-on by a cricket bat.

I really want to see a pic of this with something for scale sitting next to it...

K7 has a 640 x 480 display or something like this not 720p.

720p at 3" I think is overkill, but I may be wrong...

The Nikon D300/D3 and Sony Alpha 700 have a TFT-LCD 3" with 921K pixel (almost 1mp of resolution), that is a resolution about 1080x720.

They are counting subpixels, 3 colors. 640 x 480 x 3 = 921,600 pixels Here, the K-7 is on par with a700/D300.

Nice specs, but uninspired design. The E-P1 completely spanks this one in the looks department, and as Apple repeatedly shows us, don't underestimate the importance of visual appeal in the marketing of consumer products. There is no *cool* factor here.

From the same site, NX with kit lenses, They look like modified pentax 18-55 & 50-200. The lenses look different to my samsung 50-200, same shape, different markings and grip, looks like a mf/af switch on side. kit lenses with sdm?

The question for me is does it have SR, weather seals, and can it drive screw mount lenses?

During PMA 2009, some forum discussions were arguing that the lenses seems similar to Sigma's.

However in an interview, a Samsung guy claimed that Samsung is able to develop the lenses by their own and they will do so. Basically, it is very probable is gonna be a new mount (??? although it seems strange ???). Time will tell

The lens that looks like a 50-200 on the red NX above appears to have an extra ring of metal between the mount and lens as you would expect with the new mount. what it might indicate though is that Hoya may be the manufacturer of the new Samsung lenses. Hoya making money out of lenses for samsung would be good for pentax i imagine.

I think coolness depends on the lens line up. If you could have 3 different pancakes with it then i would consider it cool! The bulge houses a flash and EVF, so at least it will function like a camera unlike the EP1 which is more like a large expensive cameraphone but without a phone! taking photos with LCD display is very uncool in my opinion!
