Photographyblog K-7 Full Review (with disclaimer)

Seems like a decent review, the only thing that really surprised me was the assessment of the shutter sound as loud and mechanical. Earlier reports were saying just the opposite.

Of course, this is just another pre-production unit, which the reviewer eacknowledges in his conclusion. All in all, a pretty thorough review.

Enjoy!

"Exposures were generally 1/3rd EV stop under-exposed, perfect for retaining detail in the highlight areas without sacrificing the shadow areas too much, and colours were accurate using the default Bright setting"

HMMMM

Thought the review was decent, but in the intro he says the camera competes against the D300 and 50D, but yet when I pressed the "Main Rivals" tab, it shows it compared to the T1i , D5000, and E-620!!!

The shutter release action on the Pentax K-7 is quite loud and mechanical, something that you will either love or hate
Huh????

They were shown as 'some' of the main rivals.

In terms of the Nikons I personally would say the main K7 rival is the Nikon D90, more than the D5000, feature for feature. In Australia the price point for the D90 and the launch price for the K7 are also very close - eg $1459 for a D90 body vs $1539 for the K7.

If it is meant to be competing against the D300, the K7 has a huge price advantage that should help it, but I still think the D90 is the main target.

They have beta-sample with firmware 1.0. Not serial camera.
But main thing - they said about AF on high level.

Some kind of absurd...Post, please, in comments of this review.
Shutter sound of K-7 is one of the best among DSLR. IMO.

Main rivals, I would think that how consumers would view it.
'Coz it would seem like it has a more broad spectrum of target market.

The K-7 is perfectly positioned and priced to compete against both the D90 and the D300. Potential buyers looking at both of those models should be very impressed by the Pentax at its price.

"The Pentax K-7 has a traditional eye-level optical TTL viewfinder which offers an impressive 100% scene coverage, beating both the Canon EOS 50D and Nikon D300"

doesnt the d300 also have 100% coverage?

"The shutter release action on the Pentax K-7 is quite loud and mechanical, something that you will either love or hate. I liked it, although it isn't great for close-up candid photography as your subject will probably hear you if you get too close."

That sentence caught my eye, not only because it's not true (as we've seen videos of K-7's shutter sound), but I was sure that I've already seen that exact same sentence in another Pentax camera's review.
And yes, it is here: Pentax K-m Review - PhotographyBLOG
(Ease of use: second paragraph)

Are they just putting together reviews from the same sentences over and over??:ugh:
