sorry these all have "sony" blasting in the background, and sorry that these are not the best of photos but hey, though i'ld post these up, not sure why, possible because i'm lacking some from of medication...

the folks at CRK/Pentax were nice enough to let me put an SD card into the beasty K7...first 2 phots were blury and underexposed (hence the 0003) Oh BTW, i would of got more photos if i had the space avliable on my SD card and WM5 for some reason i think can't format SD...wait...the K7 can...crap....o well enjoy...

if you want the orig. for Pixel peepin' to check out hows the ISO and noise pm me...i'll try and get some more shots at different settings tomorrow and post them up accordling...

Is that a pre-production K7, or a final production version?

Well I had a look at the new K7, can say I had an issue in holding the camera to extent that as it is small I will not be buying it. I will wait for the next Pentax camera hopefully something for people with medium to large hands.
I will however use my money to buy more glass and keep the K10 & K20.

Was there a grip available?

This is what I'm most curious about...if it helps enough...cause I won't go grip-less even with the "medium" K10.

Yes, they had one with a grip on.

I too took some shots with the K7. Firmware came up in Exif as 0.38.

I'm not sure if I was meant to, but I took some video too. Anything black was a sea of noise.

If people want to see, I can probably organise it. The shortest one I took was 28 seconds and is 141MB.

Admittedly this was inside, with an F4 zoom on, so not ideal, but that's some crazy noise.

Here's a screencap.

I know it doesn't look so bad, but watching the video in motion, the noisy is jumping around all over the blacks like ants or something. Very distracting.

They must have had different firmware in the 3 bodies. The one I used came up as version 0.30.
