Pentax Canada Ships on Monday

A place called "Galaxy Camera" in Ottawa, ON. claims to have K7's already in stock. They have two listed on ebay right now...this is one of them:

New Pentax K7 K-7 DSLR Camera 14.6 MP/ HD Movie/ 5.2FPS - eBay (item 350219875800 end time Jul-06-09 21:06:33 PDT)

I messaged him and asked if these were awaiting arrival or if they had them in stock right now...he replied saying they were IN STOCK.

On an aside/rant, though, notice the price of the auction already at just shy of US$1200 @ 38-bids and still 4-DAYS TO GO...man...I really hate stupid ebayers. Why on earth would you bid an item up so early in the listing time, let alone bid it up to practically MSRP price THAT YOU CAN ALREADY GET IT AT FROM ANY LARGE RETAILER IN THE USA!?!?!? Stupid, I say....STOOOOOOOPID.

eBayer here. I must say that there is a trick there if you guys know. usually some sellers bid on their own items by using another account or someone associated to him/her inorder to increase the price of the item so that they won't be at a loss. this is a normal practice actually. and at most times, who in the right mind, especially a well-known large market seller would let their brand new items be bidded in an amount a third of it's real worth? you would somehow wonder that a 500 dollar lens (standard retail price) which is bidded at 100 dollars would suddenly jump at 300-350 dollars by a buyer only within less than 2 days remaining in the bidding period.

I had/have seen bids like this eversince I began ebaying. if you want to see any trend, try and look for the bidding history. it would tell you a lot about stupid bidders, big spenders or someone who just plainly trying to jack up the price.

I'd heard that, but never knew whether to give it much weight...

I don't know, every time I buy something of importance on eBay, I make a point of checking out more regular retail channels as well to ensure I don't over bid.

But hey, maybe that's just me.

speaking about my K-7 pre-order, I could wait for it til monday next week. I still have to replenish my resources because of LBA (got some really good and rare lenses though), and a 3 day extension would help a lot in extending my credit card billing cycle. plus, I haven't finished reading the K-7 manual yet. lol.

We should be receiving 20+ K-7's today (July 3rd).

Edit: I called McBains and London Drugs which both said it didn't come in the stock today so next shipment is next week Wed-Sat.

Dr. Who - I was at McBains today on 107th and the girl told me their Pentax rep told her that it was delayed until maybe mid-July! I really don't think they know when they'll be in!

All the staff there were wearing very nice Pentax Golf Shirts!

I guess I'll wait for a review or two. It'll be interesting to see what DxOmark has to say about the K7. The wait is killing me seriously.

maybe the ones shiping the K7 are playing golf too and thats why we havn't seen it in our stores here in Edmonton

I guess its the waitign game for now :S

just got a call from the camera shop today and they said that my K-7 is available for pick-up anytime today or whenever I want to. Wohoo ! K-7 is now available in Vancouver, B.C.

I'm not always able to be around for the "final countdown" so I have bid what I'm willing to pay a few days before the auction end.......expecting that I won't win....but once in a while I do.
