I got the same e-mail... woohoo

Just checked, and I've got the same e-mail!

This gives me time to assess the Samsung announcement on the 7th, but I'm really excited for this camera to finally arrive.

I got a little paranoid with the range of Amazon Shipping dates and cancelled my order (I placed yesterday), then turned around and bought from Buydig!

I called to confirm stock availability with Buydig, and was given the greenlight to expect my K-7 on the shipping truck on the 7th!

Saved an extra $115 on Taxes and Shipping cost too!

I cancelled with Amazon to go with Buydig as well. Saved me $8 for 3-6 day shipping, with the same basic arrival date. Also, went through Bing Cashback and will be getting $40 back off my purchase. JR offers $60 back, but I called and they can't guarantee a shipping date. I needed it soon as I have a long weekend at the Grand Canyon coming up later this month.

I cancelled my Amazon order and ordered from J&R since they ship for free with UPS ground that is 1 day to me and 5% Bing cashback.

are you sure? did they provide a tracking #?

damn...good for you, I hesitated going with them because of shady processing/actual shipping dates.

Amazon is anything but shady. They do keep a little flexibiilty in their shipping windows when you use the Free Super Saver Shipping, but what do you expect...it's free! It's only by using those free shipping orders to smooth out the load in their warehouses that they are able to offer free shipping at all.

I pay my yearly $80 for an Amazon Prime membership, which gets me unlimited free 2-day shipping on everything, and that usually works out to be one-day shipping in reality. With the ridiculous number of orders I place with them, it pays for itself many times over.

I too have Amazon Prime and use it a lot. In fact we probably save 1-2 shopping trips a week just buying a lot of items on Amazon using Prime. Everything ships almost instantly and on time. I am sure they miss a ship date ever now and then, but after 1000s of transactions, I never have had a problem with Amazon and their shipping.

I too wonder what was meant by the comment.

I really have no idea what that means at all. Maybe the comment is from dealing with 3rd party sellers not Amazon themselves?

Yup, I got a tracking number. I was actually surprised, because less than a day earlier they sent me an e-mail saying that it was expected to ship on the 9th.

guess you just have to drool over the K-7's extremely nice photo results then brecklundin. the K-7 body would be of great use in optimizing the IQ of your Pentax lenses. anyway, you've got a winner there with your K20D, but the K-7 is just on another level.
