Any Shipments from Pentax Webstore?

I pre-ordered from the Pentax Webstore and wondered if anyone has received delivery of the K-7 from that source?

I pre-ordered from the Pentax Webstore. No shipping email as of 12:04 PM PDT. I'm quite annoyed, to be certain. Definitely won't be ordering from the Pentax Webstore again. It's quite pitiful that Pentax is getting beat by Amazon, B&H in shipping their own product!

I agree. That is lame. I ended up ordering from Amazon because they are pretty good about telling you when they have things and when they will ship and when they should arrive. The pentax webstore is quite vague about it's dates. Of course, they don't have the consumer base that amazon does so it is difficult to expect as much customer service or streamlined purchasing. But then again, you would think that they should get their own product out before anyone else receives it.

I agree. I actually would have hoped that early shipping, at least "first among the first" would be a perq of ordering there.

I guess I'm done ordering there.

my actual order page still says "backordered" and they have not yet charged my card.

It isn't real until they have the money.

I am glad I cancelled my order with the Pentax Webstore because I thought by ordering at 11am ET on May 20th I would be one of the first to get the K-7 but I seen I was wrong. And I was paying $21.15 extra for 2 day delivery. I ordered with J&R because they have free delivery that is one day to me and 5% Bing cashback.

Okay...they still have not charged my card, but the order status now says "In Warehouse"

Nice to know those supporting the Pentax Webstore will be among the last to get the K-7.

They're one day too late. I cancelled my order yesterday and ordered with Amazon. What sucks is that the cancellation email says this:

"Although every effort will be made to cancel or modify your order, WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLY WITH YOUR REQUEST.

In some instances we are unable to cancel or modify an order even it has not been shipped. To provide you with the fastest service and delivery as possible, once your order is finalized it immediately goes through our automated process. "

Seriously?!? Guess I'll have to give my CC company a call if I see a charge from them...

I got an email stating my order was at a point now at which it could not be changed; since they charged my card, I assume/hope that means...soon out the door!

that is POOR service. people who ordered from the pentax webstore should leave a note on ned's blog. you guys should have had first dibs on the k-7s!

I ordered from them originally and then I saw that Amazon was actually shipping them. So I called (pentax webstore) and was told that they were not due in until the 15th (!). I went ahead and ordered from Amazon thinking I had a few days and I'd cancel when I had shipping confirmation. So then I checked my cc and I had two K-7 level charges, called the Pentax webstore back and they said oh yeah, they're in the warehouse and shipping. Hello!! Had I been given accurate information I never would have placed that second order. So I cancelled with them, kept the Amazon order and should be receiving my camera today. I informed the person on the phone that had I been given accurate information they would have gotten the sale.

I was told several times that they are NOT Pentax, just the store that sells it. Whatever. You put Pentax on your name and you're linked to the official Pentax website, you're Pentax.

I just hope I don't still end up with two cameras.
