Yeah, but you have to pay $70 more up front.

It finally arrived this morning and I'm already loving it and I hope I know how to use it! It is my very first DSLR. Before I ordered the Pentax I checked both Canon and Nikon cameras, held them in my hands and compared to the Pentax they felt cheap and plasticky like toy cameras. The Pentax feels great and solid in my hands.

Bing is going bye bye

Bing is going bye bye

Bing Cashback Going Away - FM Forums

It would appear the BEST savings are gained from waiting.

$65 off a $1299 K-7 purchase or let some time pass and buy K-7 from B&H today for $865, a $434 savings.

Waiting and paying less for cameras leaves more money inhand for lenses.

I am now waiting for the battery to charge and putting the strap on. BTW the K-7 body is the same size as my *ist DS2 except the grip is larger but it fits my hand better

When it comes to camera bodies, you are definitely right - the only way their price goes is down! Personally if there is a body I am interested in I find the sweet spot to be about 30% below retail - if I were interested in the K7, it could be found just over $900 at the beginning of the year. It is a better deal at this point, but is just shy of being on the market for a year now. It is also holding its value better than previous high end pentax bodies (which have generally hit around $600 at this point if memory serves correctly). In the long run, the K20d has still retained reasonable resale value as well, a statement to its' quality!

ebay currently has some K-7 for under $800 before 8% Bing cashback. Might get even lower before the Bing cashback expiry.
