Thanks for the PDF.

From the brochure:
QuoteQuote:
The 14.6 megapixel CMOS sensor in the K-7 is rebuilt from the ground up to accommodate not only high resolution images, but also decreased image noise, fast image capture, and video.
LOL. Marketing hyperbole. And that's all you hear of noise (or indeed image quality per se, which is surprising) in the brochure.

QuoteQuote:
PRIME II includes dedicated circuitry to quickly modify images, the ability to process compressed DNG images...
Good to have that confirmed. Now not only are PEF compressed in-camera, but DNG too, clearly with little penalty in CPU time as well since the camera now can do 5 fps.

Is it? It has been confirmed here, as well as other places that K-7 has better chroma noise than the k20d.

The K-7 looks very boxy in the first pics... me like.

The DA 15 still looks awkward on the new body though.

The whole DA and D-FA line looks quite good!

While I sort-of agree on that point, I think the jury is still out on the whole K7 noise issue, esp the K7/K20D comparisons. It certainly is for me, as I await detailed reviews of the production K7 by the likes of DXO Labs, dpreview etc.

Pentax is certainly being hyperbolic in saying the sensor was 'rebuilt from the ground up' though, when it is pretty clear the K7 sensor very closely resembles the K20D sensor, just with a few extra bolt ons for video handling etc.

You got different letters, too

Question: Where do I stuff my remote control? As it no longer seems to fit the battery grip

Maybe they're saying, you should use your remote more as it has always been (sleeping) in the battery compartment!
At least they still kept the memory card compartment.

I don't think I would characterize what they said as hyperbole. I can see how they may have had to completely redesign the sensor "from the ground up" in order to handle the heat requirements of video. The fact that the two sensors have similar noise at high-iso may simply mean that they are running into physical limits of present APS-C technology when used on such a high-resolution sensor.

they could have done a better job at demonstrating the built-in HDR.
those example shots on the side are horrible, in my opinion.

In the strap if you get an older MZ-era camera strap.
Those straps had a little pouch built-in for the remote
