The right direction

Great! But it could be greater still: disable the functions (WB flash etc) altogether when the AF-point switch is set to SEL, and use the OK-button to select the center focusing point. The extra functions could work like now when AF is set to Auto or Center point.
This could be added as Option 3 in the next firmware update, if you wish.
This is the next best thing to having a dedicated AF-selection button/wheel like the K10/K20 has. Now you still have to remember did I hit the OK button already, or didn't I?
Getting the focusing right quickly and intuitively should be priority 1.

I wish they'd address...

This is inevitable. I'm sure there will be several more firmware updates over the coming months. Some of which may address noise issues.
the 'nose' issues!

the exifs data of my uploaded compressed images are finally showing. I think this is one of the issues that were corrected in the new firmware also. this is besides the additional custom image function that was added and changed AF-point select button menu. aside from these, I'm looking for other changes that might be included in the new firmware. or probably Pentax would include them on the next firmware update.

to the OP, thanks for the heads up regarding the firmware update.

I'll light the fuse, you point it at the house.

Any changes to the movie mode capability?
