No K-m in major Swedish online shops

I just noticed that the two major online camera stores in Sweden only have K20D and K-7 listed. No K200D (expected), nor K-m / K2000 which is more surprising.

Is K-m already to be upgraded? Any thoughts?

I was at a Swedish Media Markt a couple of weeks ago; they had no Pentax cameras in stock (couple months earlier they had K20D and K-m) so I asked a salesman about it: he said they still sell Pentax but the K-7 is the only one they're currently stocking (as soon as they got some in, though, they immediately sold out, so I couldn't have a look-feel like I had hoped) since the K-m, he said, is about to be phased out and replaced.

Me too, I heard from my Belgian dealer a few weeks ago (K-m discontinued). The K200D is discontinued for a longer time now, at least in Europe.

Makes room for improvement...

According to German foto magazine, the K-m sensor dust removal is next to useless.

Hopefully, its replacement will have the same mechanism as the K-7 which is great.

Of course it is the same as K10/K200/K20.

It may be 'useless' to some, but I have far less dust problems with my K2000 and K200D than I did with my *istDS, which was a dust accumulation machine. I considered switching to Olympus due to constant dust woes, and way too much time spent with the clone tool in Photoshop.

The antidust is no god for geting rid of dust that's already stuck on the sensor. But IMO it does a pretty good job preventing it from sticking there.

And it seems that NetOnNet (another large swedish consumer electronics shop) is no longer selling any Pentax products. A year or so ago they had most DSLR models on the shelves and a cople of lenses to choose from.

Would this have something to do with Pentax Sweden closing down and with a new Swedish distributor?

I visited my local mediamarkt yesterday and they said that Focus Trading can't deliver the K-M fast enough coz the double lens combo has sold really good!

some solid proof for K-m' sales

The last week K-m scored very well (best in its existence) with the premiere of a place in top 10 for the dual kit: ??????????? | ??? | ??????????? BCN?????

K-m dual kit - 8th;
K-m kit - 19th;
K-m body - 60th;
K-m Olive kit - 66th
K-m Dual kit with DA55-300 as a tele zoom - 72nd.

Also that week the first 12 Pentax models were all up (a first for me to see in all that time of following the numbers there).

Good to hear. I really liked the feel of the K-m, and I like to have a small body when on the move.

I really like my K10, but I didn't find the K7 the same perfect fit.
