LV and/or movie feature demands a change from the old 10 Mp CCD to a CMOS as I understand.
I expect this from a "K300".

Ogl, do you know anything about sept 13 or is it just an question? I know you had some extra knowledge close to the K-7 announcement.

Anyway, K-m was announced on September, 22.

K-m was announced on September, 22. [2008]
Of course those were Photokina years...

Not much happened (from Pentax) in September 2005 or 2007.

Let's hope this years will be different, but there definitely isn't much of a pattern there...

Yes that pattern doesn't hold in court

One better indicator is that the K-m and K200D is more and more rare in shops....

Btw, The large web based camera shop Cyberphoto in Sweden has just got a number of K2000 in stock. Might be the last batch of the camera and it happend to be K2000 instead of K-m.

Never underestimate the inability of Pentax USA to sell any products!

True. Everything "American" sells good here though...

Make that "Japanese-American" and I think the coolness factor is one notch up. On a side note if one thinks K-m was a commercial success let's wait a little longer for its successor.

What if they waited for the photo show in Paris to make an anouncement?
It's only next month, so...

What about November? In that month it's 90 years ago that Asahi Kogaku was founded.

Have a look at the announcements from Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Sony and Leica of July-September this year. It doesn't connect with any photo-show.

I bet Romania will be one of the first European countries to have the new camera (K-m replacement, in this case) on sale.
Again.

must have features for me to replace my K-m:
-LV (moved because actually I would like this with magnification for MF)
-focus point selection
-release cable
-TAv

would like:
-optical preview (for older lenses)
-timelapse
-orientation
-buffer

optimism:
-weathersealing(I think all weathersealed bodies would be quite a statement and advertisement)
-AE-L button
-larger viewfinder
-another dial
-stronger screw focus motor
-silent shutter

don't care:
-Video
-top LCD

must retain:
-AA batteries
