Rumor of the successor of the K-m/K2000.

There is a rumor about high CP new model which will be announced on 9/17.
The model should be the successor of the K-m/K2000.

Are you guys interested?

As there are a rumor that Ricoh is preparing mirror-less digital single lens camera, I hope the camera will have some attractive/impressive new feature.

"The smallest in the APC-S format" won't be enough.

What do you think?

in my dreams the new km/k2000 had:
much bigger buffer
yet-even-faster-AF
AF assist light (not using flash)
orientation sensor
9 pt AF selectable
3" hi-res screen but no top LCD
live view and video
WR body

of course, i was dreaming, but hey, it could come true

just saying there's a rumor is no good.

One of the Pentax photographers I met a few days ago flew to NY today
for some kind of event and he hinted there is something coming really soon...

In Germany Pentax showed at a "road show" a banner that "K-x" will presented on 9/17.

Sept. 17 seems like the most reliable part of these rumors, so we'll find out soon enough. I hope they announce some new lenses too

Sorry, I've posted on wrong board.

I don't have any link to the rumor, but a friend of mine works at the store where they sell cameras, and he said that there will be some announcement of new DSLR from HOYA (PENTAX) on 17th (JP time).

He doesn't know details, but some other rumors I've seen tells that it might be called "K-x" as photog.de says.

I just got K-7, so I'm not really interested in purchasing this entry level camera (at least for now), but after seeing Olympus and Panasonic doing well in selling those micro 4/3, I wanted to see what's Pentax (HOYA)'s next shot.

Hopefully, they'll have 3 grades lined up by the end of the year.

K-7 / mid / entry

I think you can be pretty sure Pentax isn't falling all over itself to try and play catchup on an EVIL system, they'll stick to DSLRs and let Samsung give its presumably-equivalent and possibly-related system a shot. They doubtless want something to put their name on, Samsung, and everyone seems pretty sure the next thing out from Pentax will be to update the mid-range, since the K200d has been out of production a while.
