the 1/6000 shutter and 4.7 FPS is nice, if it's true.
that's well spec'd for an entry level.
Is this really going to be entry level, or is it mid level between the K-m and K-7?

edit: I just saw it has optical preview via green button! And the buffer is a bit improved:
Continuous FPS: Approx 4.7 FPS (Continuous Hi: 17 JPG, 5 RAW), 2 FPS (Continuous Lo: unlimited JPG, 11 RAW)

Ok, anyone know how long it will take till I can buy one?

if these are true then wow, but it might be the same as with GX30.. it's the same site, that stated all the stuff about GX30 so.. and we all know now, that there will be no GX30 in the near future.. however if these specs ARE true, then, WOW, it's a winner!

12 mgpxls is great, because people will choose it over 10mgpxls just because it's more.. in this segment they do not know more details about IQ and they tend to think more mgpxls=better.

faster frame rate and bigger buffer +++ great news

same small sturdy and cute body +++ great.

liveview+video ----> winner!

11 focus points, let's hope they will be superimposed..

if if if it's true.. then i'm happy. Pentax is listening and is responding, and is doing all the right things.

let's just hope for good ISO noise and all features that are built in to be fully operational..

it should be a bestseller for the coming Christmas..

I'll get one for my girlfriend for sure..

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing: who's making the sensor? Samsung doesn't make a 12mp CMOS sensor, has Pentax gone with Sony before? CCD is out since it'll have LV/video

The way I see it. If its the sensor from the D90 then thats great.
If its the sensor from the A500 then thats great
If Pentax co designed the sensor with Samsung, considering its Higher base Iso. Bigger pixel pitch and higher expanded Iso then thats great also.

I would be really happy if it was a Samsung sensor personally because It means a tighter relationship with Pentax. But it looks more likely to be the fast Sony sensor

Samsung is big enough to make a 12MP sensor if they chose to. but its most likely to be the same Sony sensor that they are using in their own A500.

And Pentax have been in bed with sony for their 6MP and 10MP CCD sensors. So they are on friendly terms

Well Samsung only lists one APS-C sensor in their catalog and it's 15mp, so it would have to be a surprise announcement too. Sony sounds more reasonable, I believe Nikon is making their own CMOS sensors now.

sony is going to be on good terms with anyone who buys their products. especially the competition. I hope its a samsung personally, but we will have to wait and see.

Like what. The 4.7 FPS. The Sony A500 has 5FPS with similar sensor.

I do agree that there is a possibility that the camera is fake. But I do not see a single item there that makes it look unreal.

Seems pretty certain at this point that there will be a K-x, it's just a question of whether the rumored specs are accurate.

You may recall how accurate the rumored K-7 specs turned out to be once the product was formally launched.

I wonder how AF point selection will work without a dedicated button. That might be annoying!

I don't understand - the K-7 has AF point selection on the body, right? The K-x picture does not. I guess it won't be so bad if they move it to the control panel. I already switch back and forth between center point and wide focus on the K2000 and it is a bit tedious.

My question is, is there any feature missing compare to K-7?

1. 77 segment metering
2. WR
3. 100% viewfinder
4. Video Quality
5. Microfocus adjustment
6. AF Assist via flash
7. Mag alloy body
8. High-resolution 3" LCD
9. Top LCD
10. Dual Control Wheel

Thanks for everyone's contribution so far.
