I literally upgraded my K10d to the K7 last week. . if they upgraded the ISO sensitivities (one of the 2 reasons for my upgrade) and its better in the Kx. . I will be PISSED. I shoot mainly in low light settings.

You can downsample your K7 14.6 MP shots, to match that of 12 MP. Besides with improved SAFOX in K7, it will likely still have better AF in low-light than this K-x.
Though judging from the k-m, the K-x is likely gonna be sweet.
(Looks pretty cool in red too)

If it had weathersealing I'd consider upgrading my k10. as is, I'll stick with the weathersealed lines (k7 or k20), although the small size is tempting. I just love to not have to worry about weather.

Looks great, but the lack of WS deters me. I was hoping they'd seal it, so I guess I'll have to get a K200 or wait again (or just get it over with and get a K-7!).

Video is nice, but not for me. I'd rather have WS.

the k200d is a great camera, however, the k-7 is head and shoulders above the k200d in terms of features. If you can afford it, go k-7.

You know what they say about the voices of dissension always being the loudest, but I just wanted to chime in that I LOVE the fact video is included, even if in some way it was at the expense of WS.

"However, the K-m cloning process has meant that although you can now at least select the active AF-point, it's still not displayed in the viewfinder"

It's some kind of idiocy

I will try downsampling out. . .just saying if the new sensor produces less noise, I'll not be happy. The only true test is to look at the same low lit scene shot at the same MP.

Sigh, I'd like to want to buy it but it's still lacking features for me to warrant an upgrade from my K100D. The colors are extremely tempting though... gah.

Missing:

- metering dial
- weather sealing
- larger viewfinder/magnification
- auto assist lamp
- top LCD
- no option of a battery grip
- rubber thumb grip

and the biggest gripe of all vs the competition is a lack of a SDM kit lens.

I've held a Rebel XS and Nikon D60/D3000 and they trump entry level Pentax bodies in pure pleasure to use, mostly due to the silent and fast AF and bright view screen... add that and AF lamp to the K-x and they'd have a killer. As for now I'd still be hesitant to say buy a Pentax, I don't want to feel handicapped the moment I pick it up. The rest of the features sounds stimulating.

The K-7 is still too expensive when a D300 can be had for less and outperforms it in many regards.

PENTAX is missing a mid-range to high-end body between the K-x and K-7. Canon has about a dozen models, Pentax can easily compete with 3 and add a 4th FF or matured/refined K-7 to round out the pack

K-x, K-x2, K-7, K-7P

I want to upgrade so bad but they aren't giving me a reason to within my budget. I guess I'll wait for the K-7 to drop in price.
