As good as the features are I'm gonna pass on this model. Nope, My k200d will serve me just fine. Next camera body I buy (probably at least 5+ years away) will likely be whatever the top of the line is so k-11 or something.

$650 for a kit option. that is equiv AUD$755. Not bad for the launch price.

K-m is still selling at AUD$81x at some places here

and that's with just the body!

Was excited with this, but seeing it's without WS, I'll pass... I'll stick with my K100D til it dies, then I'll upgrade

Then u will NEVER get a chance to upgrade! The K100D is rock solid and will NEVER die!!

Indeed; mine is at 43,000 clicks now... still going

An MZ series shutter (sans MZ-S) would probably have to be replaced 50 times to sustain that

B&H lists the red kit at the same price as the others:

Good news.

edit: Adorama has it at the same price and says availability is expected mid-November.

Sooooo....did anyone check out the pentax web store? The K-x is already listed as well.

Interesting note - it says out of stock - ships within 10 business days...!

I was wondering, are these the only options we will have? I would really like a white version with the 18-55 and 55-300 kit as an available option! I hope you aren't locked into the black version if you want the dual kit.

I got some pretty legit confirmation today that there won't be a body-only version, at least right away. Unfortunate, but I guess you can get the kit and just sell the lens.

haha, so much for the hopefulness of my last post in this thread! 10 days later, and it still says will ship within 10 business days! I figured that was just the generic 'unavailable' wording, but you never know!
