Target price is under 1M Yen that means a bit under 11K USD at the moment. A rumor I heard says that price will include the DFA 55/2.8 but take it at its face value.

With the K-x already on pre-order at Amazon, I don't see how the 645D can beat it to the public.

Edit: That's excluding any sales that may have occurred in Japan. I don't think its dodgy either because it is going to happen at least in Japan and likely would spill over if there was demand.

Pentax have previously stated that the 645D will come at the end of 2009 or early 2010. Nothing dodgy here...
Pentax also spoke abot a price target of less than $ 10 000....

The K-x will be out before then. Amazon claims it is the K200d replacement. Whether it is or not is hard to say because some including D(ip)review are claiming its a K-m replacement.

Pentax already last autumn said that in year 2009 there will be two new cameras and one cosmetic upgrade. The new cameras is K-7 and K-x, and camera with cosmetic upgrades I think is K-m white edition that was on shelves in february this year (announced last year), or may be in nevember on Pentax's 90th anniversary there will be some K-7 special edition.

Mark Roberts' website got me interested in cameras - and Pentax - again; and this post has gotten me excited about Pentax's future again (and hanging on to my FF lenses).

My new boss just told me, "We are MEANT to be on offense!" Maybe Hoya is trying to impart that idea to Pentax!
