Pentax and their miserably mundane compacts; this thing is no exception, which would be why it didn't register on "the radar".

I think Pentax's notable offerings as far as compacts go, can be summed up very easily (in no particular order):

* The WP series of waterproof cameras have always been pretty good, keep it up. Maybe even re-introduce a AA powered model!

* Pentax 750z; a very fine compact, almost rangefinder camera, they need to make another one like it, perhaps in micro fourthirds format!?

* Optio S was one sexy little P&S, even by todays standards it's very small and well made, more like this?

The rest, IMO, are uninspired, boring and rebadged (Casio? Sanyo?) pieces of junk.

Yeah, my mistake. By "WP" I meant the W series as well; great all round cameras.

Apologies for dragging up an old thread. Question is, does the Optio M85 save pictures in RAW? Or, does any Pentax compact save RAW format?
Cheers

No current compact cameras from Pentax AFAIK
Bridges X70/X80 could be different, however.

The Optio 750z does a TIFF file as the highest quality. I would love to see an update of this camera.
