I am still hoping for a K200D replacement.

Perhaps they'll call it the K-z !
Yes, I think we can all agree Pentax can skip the K-y model

Why skip what could be the sexiest camera yet?

Also the DA WR lens's will need a suitable body in that market placing to attach to.

I think we will still see a new mid range DSLR camera come out from Pentax.
I wonder when they will bring a 55-300 WR out? I need a tele zoom, and the 55-300 looks like a decent option (the 60-250 is not within my budget), but it would be cool to have a WR version of it. Currently it's a bit strange that the K-x is sold in 55-300 double kits while the K-7 double kit has the 50-200.

I am also surprised the 50-200 hasn't gone the way of the do-do - or at least, downgraded to an L version only. It would have made much more sense to me to have made the 55-300 into a WR version, but perhaps it was just that much more cost effective to WR the 50-200. Nevertheless, I think they should eliminate the standard 55-300, and have the L and a new WR version of that lens.

Well, personally I think the 50-200 is very good value for the money, and it's such a compact lens. I'm happy they still make a non-L version of it.

The Pentax K-y, while at first was thought to be a slick move for Pentax, failed to be considered after beta versions kept slipping out of the hands of the engineers during testing. No friction reported between the engineers and Hoya regarding the dropping of the concept and the idea as both knew they were walking a slippery slope on the idea.

Thanks for the inside scoop, hope you didn't have to go too far in through the back door to get that information or blow too much on (social) lubricant. Pentax definitely wouldn't have wanted to screw the pooch with that one.
